Ohkwaliha·Ká Lodge #34 inducted 30 new members into the lodge on August 12 – 13, 2017. 30 new members gave generous service to Camp Henderson while completing their Ordeal through cleaning up brush and painting latrines at Camp Henderson this past weekend. Congratulations to our new brothers!

2017 Ordeal Induction
Come join us for a weekend of fellowship and service on August 12-13th at Camp Henderson! Our Induction for newly elected members will take place at this event, as well as various service opportunities for current members during the weekend. Elections for officer positions for the next year will also take place this weekend. Those who wish to run for a lodge officer position must bring with them a letter of intent. Come join us for a weekend of service and fellowship June 9-10th at Camp Henderson! All Lodge members are welcome and encouraged to attend. Participants will arrive Friday night (preferred) or Saturday morning and work around camp during the day Saturday. The event will cost $10 for all current Brotherhood and Vigil members and $30 for new Brotherhood candidates (those currently Ordeal and going through the ceremony) to cover food and other expenses of membership. Preregistration will guarantee the lowest price for attending this event, and can be found below.
Brotherhood Candidates (current Ordeal members who will be attending) should review the OA’s Jumpstart website, especially the section on the “challeneges” to be faced during the ceremony. Don’t worry, they are all self-reflection items and designed to be individual tasks. Lodge Lock-In 2017
Our lodge will be hosting its first lock-in on Saturday, March 25th to Sunday, March 26th, 2017 in the Chase Physical Education building at SUNY Oneonta. Participants may arrive from 7:30-8:30pm, and will be departing from 6:30-7:30am Sunday morning.
Participants will have the opportunity to enjoy a variety of activities inside, including swimming, volleyball, basketball, racquetball, and other indoor sporting events. A Magic card game tournament will also be held for all interested, those planning to participate should bring $10 to purchase a pack of cards at the event.
Don’t forget your BSA health form and a swimsuit! The event cost will be $20 to cover facility costs, pizza, and breakfast in the morning. The Lodge will provide drinks, but participants are asked to bring a snack to share.

A New Lodge is Born
Ohkwaliha·Ká means bear clan in the language of the Oneida Indian Nation. The black bear has been selected as the totem of the new lodge. The election of lodge officers also took place.
