Food Fellowship & Fun!

Octobearfest is back! Join us at Camp Kingsley October 28th-30th, 2022. 

We will have shotgun and archery activities, Nintendo Switches, card and board games, unit election training and a session about learning more about the Order.

We will have a Costume Contest on Saturday Night with prizes for: Most Creative Costume, Funniest Costume, and Scariest Costume.

Soda Floats including the famous Root BEAR variety will be served.  

We will also be offering a Brotherhood Conversion to all our members who have been active in the Lodge for at least 6 months. 

Post any questions you have about Brotherhood membership in the #inductionevents channel on Slack. 

We will be inducting our 2021 Vigil Candidates on Friday night during the event. Reach out to adviser@oalodg34.org for more information about the Vigil.

2022-23 Lodge Officer Elections

Lodge Officer Annual Elections

On September 18th, we will be holding the Annual Election of Lodge Officers. The election will be held at the end of our regular Lodge meeting that will start around 9am at Camp Kingsley. The following positions are up for election: Lodge Chief, Lodge Vice Chief, Lodge Secretary, and Lodge Treasurer. Arrowmen who are nominated to run for office must be in good standing with the Lodge, be under the age of 21 for their whole term and must be able to complete the duties of their position.

LODGE CHIEF

    Chairman of the Lodge Executive Committee

    Member of the Key 3

    Oversees all Lodge operations

    Casts deciding vote on all committee ties

    Appoints Chairmen for all committees with the approval of the Key 3

    Responsible for all actions of the Lodge, it’s committees and its members

    Ad-Hoc member of all committees

LODGE VICE CHIEF

    Fills in for the Lodge Chief when he is unable to attend meetings or events

    Member of the Lodge Executive Committee

    Performs other duties as designated by the Lodge Chief

SECRETARY

    Member of the Lodge Executive Committee

    Take and maintain neatly the minutes of all Lodge meetings and read the minutes for approval at the next Lodge meeting.

    If the Secretary is unable to attend a meeting, he must find a substitute for that meeting to neatly take notes.

    Maintain all past Lodge minutes and records

    The minutes shall have the names of all Officers and Advisers in attendance at each meeting along with the starting and ending times.

    Editor in Chief of the Lodge Newsletter

    Webmaster for the Lodge Webpage

    Responsible for all committees under his direction

    Send approved copy of the minutes to all Lodge Executive Committee members, and Advisers.

TREASURER

    Member of the Lodge Executive Committee

    Submits requests to the Council Service Center for checks to be issued at the behest of the Executive Committee

    Record and maintains all financial records of the Lodge

    Oversees the Trading Post and Lodge inventory

    Presents annual Lodge budget to the Executive Board for review.

    Plans, submits for approval, and oversees all fund-raising events for the Lodge

2022 Fall Induction Weekend

September 16th-18th, 2022 Camp Kingsley
We will be holding our Fall Induction weekend for our newly elected candidates. We will also be offering a Brotherhood Conversion to all our members who have been active in the Lodge for at least 6 months. All members are encouraged to attend and help us keep camp in great shape. We will also be holding our Lodge Annual Business Meeting and Officer Election on Sunday morning after breakfast. More information on the posts of office will be in the next newsletter and posted on our website and Slack.

New Candidate Information for the Spring Induction 2022

Here is the suggested list of things:

            PLEASE BRING THE FOLLOWING (use as a checklist):

□       Current BSA membership card or your BSA registration number from the card

□       BSA Annual Health and Medical Record Parts A&B

□       Complete Scout uniform

□       Work clothing – including boots and work gloves

□       Clothing for the weekend (at least one full change)

□       Toiletries

□       Rain gear (it never fails to rain at our events)

□       A Quality Sleeping Bag

□       A Waterproof Tarp (6×8)

□       A Tent for Saturday Night

□       Bug repellent

□       Flashlight with fresh batteries

□       Medication in original container

□       Canteen or water bottle

DO NOT BRING:

            FOOD – unless special dietary needs, please include on registration page

            ELECTRONIC DEVICES (Not permitted until Saturday evening)

Please arrive at camp between 7-8pm on Friday, check in at the dining hall.

We will be holding our Spring Induction weekend for our newly elected candidates. We will also be offering a Brotherhood Conversion to all our members who have been active in the Lodge for at least 6 months.

Brotherhood eligible members will receive an e-mail in the coming weeks with more information and a chance to take part in an online study session with our Lodge Officers.
